Schedule: Part-time — 24 hours/week
Starting date: September 1, 2026
Contract: September to June (paid over 12 months)
About the role
The French American School of Princeton is seeking a compassionate, part-time School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our Pre-K through 8th-grade students.
Responsibilities
- Provide drop-in counseling services to students as needed.
- Act as a liaison with external mental health providers and coordinate care when necessary.
- Offer crisis intervention and support for students experiencing urgent emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Implement and support in-class Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs to foster students’ emotional growth and well-being.
- Lead or assist with in-class bullying prevention initiatives to promote a safe and inclusive school environment.
- Conduct parent education workshops to strengthen the school-home partnership and provide guidance on supporting student well-being.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with PK-8 school-aged children preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- French proficiency is not required.
