Part-Time Rink Operator (Seasonal)

Proctor Academy is seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to help run our ice rink operations this season. If you enjoy a hands-on environment, take pride in maintaining top-tier ice conditions, and love being part of a vibrant athletic community, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

• Operate our electric Zamboni resurfacer, perform daily ice grooming and upkeep.
• Sharpen skates and assist with full ice installation (September) and removal (March).
• Monitor and occasionally operate the rink's refrigeration system.
• Keep facilities clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Serve as a helpful, professional point of contact for student-athletes, coaches, parents, and community patrons.

Requirements

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments.
• Strong people skills and comfort interacting professionally with students, parents, and visiting guests.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends throughout the hockey season.
• Experience with Zamboni operation, mechanical equipment, or skate sharpening is a plus, but a strong willingness to learn is key.

Schedule

Seasonal, part-time position from September to March. Evenings and weekends required.
