Part Time Retail Sales Cashier Associate - Tower Store

Pay: $15.95 per hour. Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends is required.

About the role

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers in a welcoming manner and responding timely and professionally to customer inquiries. Sales Associates help maintain a well-stocked and organized sales floor that meets company standards and operate a point-of-sale (POS) cash register system to ensure the quality of product and pricing are accurate at the time of purchase.

Responsibilities

• Verify till counts, provide accurate cashier transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based point-of-sale system.
• Drive the roundup initiative by engaging customers and sharing knowledge of the mission it supports.
• Provide excellent customer service upholding company values; assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by regularly cleaning and organizing shelves and racks, picking up items, putting away product, and handling returned or unwanted items.
• Ensure a safe, clean, organized, and well-stocked POS area, sales floor, and restrooms.
• Initiate customer delight/power hour calls over intercom to organize and clean the sales floor.
• Follow all retail center policies and safety processes to provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas; act as a back-up for other areas as required.
• Perform additional job duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One (1) year of retail sales or cash handling experience is preferred.
• Accuracy with numbers, general calculations, and understanding the value of US currency and coins.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine.
• Ability to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to eight (8) hours per day.
• Color vision for accurate transactions.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime.
