Part-Time Retail Sales Cashier Associate - Austin Bluffs Store

About the role

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier provides exceptional customer service, maintains a well-stocked and organized sales floor, and operates a point-of-sale (POS) cash register system. This role supports Goodwill's mission by engaging customers in the round-up initiative and ensuring accurate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Verify till counts, provide accurate cashier transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based POS system.
• Drive the round-up initiative by engaging customers and sharing knowledge of the mission it supports.
• Provide excellent customer service, upholding company values and assisting customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by regularly cleaning and organizing shelves, picking up items, and restocking returned or unwanted items.
• Ensure a safe, clean, organized, and well-stocked POS area, sales floor, and restrooms.
• Initiate customer delight/power hour calls over the intercom to organize and clean the sales floor.
• Follow all retail center policies, safety processes, and procedures to provide a safe working environment.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a backup for other areas as required.
• Perform additional job duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year of retail sales or cash handling experience preferred.
• Accuracy with numbers, general calculations, and understanding the value of U.S. currency and coins.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine.
• Ability to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting for up to eight (8) hours per day.
• Color vision for accurate transactions.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.

Schedule

Retail Centers are open 9 AM to 9 PM Mondays through Saturdays and 9 AM to 8 PM Sundays.
