Part-Time Residential Counselor - Young Adult Program

About the role

The Home for Little Wanderers is an established child welfare agency with a mission to provide safe and supportive environments for children and their families. With 25+ community-based and residential programs serving thousands of at-risk youths, the organization focuses on helping children overcome challenges such as abuse, neglect, trauma, and disrupted family life.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients
• Provide counseling, behavioral training, and advocacy services
• Support clients in developing life skills and social skills
• Coordinate activities of daily living and assist with hygiene, clothing, and chores
• Plan and participate in recreational and educational activities
• Manage living, dining, and recreational areas to ensure a clean and organized environment
• Provide group and individual behavior support and intervention
• Implement physical restraint as necessary
• Communicate with other program staff and supervisors
• Prepare weekend meals as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with youth in a similar setting preferred
