Role Overview

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessment in critical care settings. The role involves independent decision-making, patient and family education, staff mentorship, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The therapist collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care tailored to population-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing invasive and non-invasive procedures
• Managing ventilators
• Interpreting arterial blood gases
• Ensuring high standards of patient safety and documentation

Qualifications & Skills

• Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT or RCP
• 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
• Computer proficiency and team-oriented approach
