Part Time Preschool Bus Attendant - Escalante Valley Elementary

About the role

Escalante Valley Elementary School is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Bus Attendant to work 16 hours per week. This role involves collaborating with the bus driver to ensure the safety and meet the special needs of students with disabilities during transportation to and from school.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver in safely transporting children to and from school.
• Help with the safe and orderly loading and unloading of children, using proper child lifting techniques and operating special equipment.
• Enter and exit the school bus safely within a reasonable timeframe.
• Properly secure and release students who ride the bus.
• Follow emergency evacuation procedures, including locating and using emergency equipment, and evacuate children (ambulatory or non-ambulatory) during emergencies.
• Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
• Lift and position students, implement behavior management programs, and operate special needs devices such as wheelchairs and lifts.
• Safely manage and communicate with students with special needs.
• Use basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Google Docs, and check email frequently.
• Learn and use all required computer systems and software.

Schedule

Part-time position, 16 hours per week. Routes and hours may vary from year to year and within a school year.
