Part-Time Prep & Event Cook (Flexible Schedule)

Inglewood, CA Part Time Très L.A. Catering & Events Experienced Très L.A. is looking for skilled, dependable Prep & Event Cooks to join our part-time catering culinary team. You will spend most of your time prepping for catered events at our production kitchen in Inglewood, and you will be cross-trained to work events at the Pacific Design Center, Carondelet House, and other event locations throughout Los Angeles. This role is ideal for a cook who enjoys both the rhythm of production work and the energy of live events. Prep shifts are your primary shifts and typically take place in the morning at our Inglewood kitchen, so candidates who live in or near the Inglewood area are preferred. Event shifts take place at a variety of locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area and vary based on bookings and business needs, so evening and weekend availability for events is essential. Pay Prep shifts: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experienceEvent shifts: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience What You'll Do Prepare ingredients and menu components according to prep lists, recipes, and production schedulesPortion, label, and pack food for offsite events using our packing checklistsFollow standardized recipes and plating guides so every event meets the same quality standardStore, rotate, and date product correctly to reduce waste and keep the kitchen organizedTravel with the culinary team to events to set up, cook, finish, and plate menu items on siteAssist with event breakdown, cleaning, and packing equipment and product at the end of serviceKeep your station and kitchen areas clean, organized, and safe throughout the shiftFollow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and company policies What We're Looking For At least two years of prep cook, line cook, or catering experience, with high-volume production experience preferredStrong knife skills and the ability to follow recipes and prep lists accuratelyA reliable, positive, team-first attitude and strong work ethicAbility to work quickly and stay organized in a busy kitchen or event environmentComfortable with physically active work, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and loading and unloading equipment for eventsAvailability for morning prep shifts, plus nights, weekends, and occasional late shifts for eventsReliable transportation to our Inglewood kitchen and to event locations throughout the greater Los Angeles areaFlexibility to pick up scheduled shifts as business needs ariseCurrent Food Handler Card required If you take pride in clean, consistent prep and want to grow with a great hospitality team, with opportunities to advance into Lead Event Cook and Event Chef roles, we would love to hear from you.
