Part Time Physician for MAT Clinic

About the role

MedMark Treatment Centers is looking for a part-time physician dedicated to helping patients in their road to recovery from opioid use disorder. We provide individualized treatment integrating pharmacotherapy, clinical counseling, recovery support, and medical services in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine treatment.
• Cover absences for the Medical Director during vacations, addiction meetings, and personal absences.
• Obtain patient history and perform physical exams.
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), enter orders for methadone dosing, or write buprenorphine prescriptions.
• Monitor patient dosages in conjunction with the Treatment Center Director, Counselors, and Dosing Nurses.
• Consult on high-risk patients and perform annual medication reviews.
• Supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
• Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Eligible in Addiction Medicine or any residency.
• Must be licensed in the State of Alabama.
• Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment is preferred.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
• Ability to interact compassionately with a diverse population.
