Part Time Physician for MAT Clinic
About the Role
MedMark Treatment Centers is looking for a part-time physician dedicated to helping patients in their road to recovery from opioid use disorder. This role involves admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment and covering absences for the Medical Director during vacations, meetings, or personal leave.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history and perform physical exams.
- Document findings and enter orders for methadone dosing in the EMR or write buprenorphine prescriptions.
- Consistently monitor patient dosages in collaboration with the Treatment Center Director, Counselors, and Dosing Nurses.
- Consult on high-risk patients and conduct annual medication reviews.
- Supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Eligible in Addiction Medicine or any residency.
- Must be licensed in the State of Alabama.
- Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is preferred.
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
- Ability to interact compassionately with a diverse population.
