Part time Pet Bather

Job Summary

Aid the kennel staff in providing care and maintenance for the kennel and its surroundings. Specifically, responsible for bathing boarding animals and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and dry boarding animals, perform basic grooming tasks like nail trimming, and minimize pet stress during bathing.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kennel and surrounding areas.
• Perform housekeeping duties such as stock supplies, keep the exterior clean, and ensure the comfort and cleanliness of boarding pets.
• Advise the Kennel Manager or Hospital Manager of any unsafe conditions or violations of safety rules.
• Exercise patients as needed.

Requirements

• Treat animals with care and respect and work well with them.
• Enjoy keeping pets and kennels clean.
• Possess physical stamina and a compassionate, patient demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous animal handling, bathing experience is recommended.

Physical Requirements

• Dependable attendance is required.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Willingness to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
• Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions.
• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person, and over the telephone.
