Part Time - PB Coder

About the Role

This position oversees the billing, coding, and charge capture process for physicians, including research charges, ensuring compliance with government and industry guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient charge capture
• Interpret medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Review and ensure documentation accuracy
• Resolve coding denials and report discrepancies
• Provide education on coding practices
• Stay current with industry standards through training
• Maintain required continuing education units

Requirements

• Minimum of three years' experience in medical billing with active coding proficiency
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations
• Coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA)
• Strong communication, organization, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree
