About the Role

The Part-Time Patient Check-In Representative greets patients, performs health screenings, verifies and updates demographic and insurance information, and ensures proper completion of registration and consent forms. They facilitate patient check-in, inform clinical teams of arrivals, and collect payments, including co-pays and balances. The role also involves verifying insurance eligibility, managing referrals, scanning documents, handling cash reconciliation, preparing daily deposits, and maintaining accurate cash handling procedures. Additionally, the representative may assist with patient transportation coordination, respond to patient inquiries, and support various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Check-in patients, perform health screenings, and direct them appropriately
  • Verify and update insurance and demographic information, process referrals and waivers
  • Collect payments, reconcile cash, and prepare deposits following policies
  • Support administrative functions such as patient inquiries, transportation coordination, and document management
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with billing and registration procedures

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare or customer service setting, including cash handling and insurance verification
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Reliable transportation and valid US driver's license

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with healthcare registration, self-pay collections, and end-of-day balancing
  • Strong customer service, communication, multi-tasking, and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to schedule changes, and collaborate effectively
