Part-Time Paramedic

Job Title: Paramedic Department: Emergency Medical Services Location: Massena, NY Hours: 40 hours/week with 12-hour shifts Summary: The Paramedic is a frontline healthcare professional responsible for providing emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings. They respond to dispatch calls, assess patient conditions, administer advanced life support, and transport patients to medical facilities. Responsibilities Include Responding to emergency calls, assessing patients, and determining appropriate interventionsSafely transporting patients while monitoring their conditionProviding advanced life support such as airway management, IV therapy, defibrillation, and medication administrationCommunicating with dispatch, emergency personnel, and healthcare providersDocumenting patient care accurately and maintaining medical equipment and vehiclesEducating and reassuring patients and families in crisesAdhering to safety, legal, and ethical protocolsInterpreting medical instructions and performing physical tasks, including lifting patients in challenging environmentsParticipating in ongoing education to stay current with protocolsMaintaining composure and professionalism under high-pressure conditions Physical and Working Conditions: Work in diverse, potentially hazardous environments, requiring physical readiness to lift and move patients and equipment, often in extreme terrain or weather. Must remain calm and focused during high-stress situations. Qualifications Current NYS Licensed ParamedicCertification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or obtain AHA credentials within 3 months)Valid Driver’s License Preferred Experience: 3+ years in 911 and inter-facility transport, with experience in critical care transports.
