About the role
This full-time position involves providing advanced emergency medical care as a Paramedic. You will assess emergency situations, operate medical equipment such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, and suction devices, and administer intravenous fluids. Effective communication with patients and their families to offer reassurance and information is essential. You may act as a team leader for scene and unit management and will be responsible for driving the ambulance during emergency responses.
Collaboration with healthcare and public safety personnel, as well as participation in community programs, is emphasized to maintain a positive community presence.
Responsibilities
- Assess emergency medical situations and provide advanced care.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment, including defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, and suction devices.
- Administer intravenous fluids and other emergency treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their loved ones to provide reassurance and information.
- Act as a team leader for scene and unit management when required.
- Drive the ambulance safely during emergency responses.
- Collaborate with healthcare and public safety personnel.
- Participate in community programs to maintain a positive presence.
- Adhere to safety and operational protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid state Paramedic license.
- Valid driver’s license with a compliant driving record.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- NREMT-Paramedic certification.
- Ability to pass a physical agility test.
