Part-Time Paralegal

Oakland County, Michigan Government · Pontiac, MI · 4 wk ago
Legal$27.49–$36.84/hrPart-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: Overview & Benefits? Actually we need to follow rules: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Include a section only when posting has real, specific content. Remove boilerplate, navigation, EEO, etc. Preserve all substantive info. We need to parse the posting. Content: - Overview & Benefits: description about Oakland County, mission, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, opportunity to do meaningful work. Also link to benefits page. - General Summary: "$27.49 - $36.84 This position is on-site". That's pay range and on-site. - Then "Are you interested..." paragraph (intro). Then "What You’ll Do" list of duties. - Then "Why You’ll Love It Here" list of benefits/experience. - Then "Minimum Qualifications" with subparts: Required Minimum Qualifications (a. Possession of a certificate or degree sanctioned by the ABA as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant; Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for the classification. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.) Additional Desirable Qualifications list. - Then "SUPERVISION EXERCISED" line. - Then "Essential Job Functions" long list of duties (similar to What You’ll Do but more detailed). Might be duplicate; we need to preserve all substantive info, but avoid duplication? The instruction: "Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail." So we need to include all details, but we can combine similar content? Might be okay to keep both sections but ensure not duplicate identical sentences. However they are similar but not identical; we could keep both but might be repetitive. The instruction says "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So we might combine duties into one Responsibilities section, merging both lists. Similarly qualifications into Requirements/Qualifications. We need headings: About the role? Could use Overview & Benefits as maybe "About the role" or "Overview". But we need to use allowed headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can choose appropriate. We have content: Overview & Benefits (mission, benefits). Could map to "About the role" or "Benefits". Since we have separate Benefits heading allowed, we could put benefits there. Overview could be "About the role". Pay heading for salary range. Schedule heading for on-site? Actually schedule: "This position is on-site" could go under Schedule. Responsibilities: duties from What You’ll Do and Essential Job Functions. Requirements/Qualifications/Skills: Minimum Qualifications (required and desirable) plus maybe Essential Mental & Physical Requirements, Working Conditions. We need to avoid repeating job title as heading. No Job ID. We must remove boilerplate: EEO statement, Inclusion Statement, Important NOTE about job description purpose, Additional Minimum Qualifications Union*, etc. Also remove navigation, cookie, legal, scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions (like "Apply today..."). We must preserve all substantive info: mission description, pay range, on-site, duties, why you'll love it, qualifications, supervision exercised, essential job functions, essential mental & physical requirements, working conditions. We need to format lists with
  • . Use

for prose. We must not include sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We need to decide which headings to include. Let's outline: -

    About the role

: prose about Oakland County mission, making difference, etc. Also maybe include link to benefits? But benefits separate. -

    Benefits

: talk about competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, opportunity to do meaningful work. Also maybe include link to benefits page? The link is about benefits; we could include as

    with link. -

    Pay

    : salary range "$27.49 - $36.84". Also maybe note on-site? Actually schedule separate. -

    Schedule

    : "This position is on-site". -

    Responsibilities

: combine duties from What You’ll Do and Essential Job Functions. Need to list each duty as
  • . Ensure we capture all. -

    Qualifications

: maybe split into Required and Desired? Could use

    Requirements

    for required, and

    Skills

for desirable? But we have headings: Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. We could use Requirements for required minimum qualifications, Qualifications for additional desirable qualifications, Skills for abilities like communication, organization, etc. However the posting includes many abilities under Additional Desirable Qualifications. Could treat them as Skills. Better: Use

    Requirements

for required minimum qualifications (certificate/degree, pass exam, six month probation). Use

    Skills

for the list of abilities (follow instructions, organizational skills, knowledge of office practices, research techniques, grammar, communication, decision making, software). Use

    Qualifications

maybe for supervision exercised? Not sure. But we need to avoid empty sections. Let's see what we have: - Required Minimum Qualifications: a. Possession of a certificate or degree sanctioned by the ABA as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant; Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for the classification. Successfully complete the six month probationary period. - Additional Desirable Qualifications: list of abilities. - SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May assist in training and checking the work of lower-level employees. - Essential Mental & Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate to accurately convey information. - WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a typical office environment. We could incorporate supervision exercised under Responsibilities or Skills. Essential mental & physical requirements could be under Requirements or Skills. Working conditions maybe under Schedule? But schedule is about on-site; working conditions is typical office environment. We could add a section

    Working Conditions

but not in allowed headings list. Allowed headings are limited to those given. So we must fit into those headings. We could put working conditions under Schedule? Not ideal. Could put under Responsibilities? Not. Maybe we can omit working conditions if not covered by allowed headings? But we must preserve ALL substantive information. However we can embed it in a

under an existing heading like Responsibilities or Skills. The instruction: "Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." It says e.g., implying those are examples, not exclusive? It says "use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." Likely they expect us to use those headings only. So we must map all content to those headings. Thus we need to place working conditions somewhere, maybe under Schedule (since schedule includes on-site and typical office environment). Or under Responsibilities? Could add a sentence about working conditions in Responsibilities paragraph. Similarly supervision exercised could be under Skills or Requirements. Essential mental & physical requirements: ability to communicate accurately convey information - could be under Skills. Thus we can embed. Now we need to ensure we don't create sections with filler. All sections will have substantive content. Let's draft:
