Part-Time Package Handler

Spee Dee Delivery is a family‑owned and operated company founded in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are in St. Cloud, MN. The company employs over 1,800 employees across the Midwest and provides standard, next‑day, ground delivery services.

About the role

The Part‑Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state.
• Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently.
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed.
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Skills

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Efficient time‑management skills.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read labels quickly and work independently.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb repetitively and up to 100 lb occasionally.
• Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.

$18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
