Part-Time Package Handler

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company-wide and have expanded throughout the Midwest.

About the role

The Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–10:30 PM shift
• Tuesday–Saturday, 4:00 AM–8:00 AM shift

Pay

$18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Skills

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Efficient time management skills
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work with all types of freight, including but not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
