About the Role
This position involves providing safe, direct patient care in an ambulatory setting, utilizing the nursing process across diverse age groups. The nurse offers clinical leadership, mentorship, and serves as a role model for staff while collaborating with physicians and promoting patient self-management and empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document patient conditions; set and achieve care goals
- Administer medications and perform treatments
- Assist with tests, procedures, and complex treatments
- Mentor staff and participate in orientation
- Ensure patient safety and environmental safety measures
- Provide patient and family education on health management and treatments
- Coordinate care with healthcare team and support emergency responses
- Maintain accurate medical records and manage supply inventories
- Maintain equipment and supplies
Requirements
- Graduated from a recognized nursing program with licensure as an RN (NM or reciprocal agreement)
- CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days
- Experience in patient care
- Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish or Native languages) preferred
- Physical capacity for heavy work involving lifting and moving objects or patients
- Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and documentation standards
