Part-Time Orthodontic Dental Assistant

About the Role

This position involves providing chairside assistance in a dental practice, supporting orthodontic treatments, and preparing materials and equipment according to the dentist's preferences. The role includes instructing patients on elastic treatments, taking diagnostic X-Rays, and assisting with bonding, banding, and debonding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during treatments and procedures
• Prepare tray setups and materials for procedures
• Take diagnostic X-Rays, photos, and scans
• Support with bonding, banding, and adjustments for orthodontic patients
• Provide patient education on elastic treatment
• Make retainers and bleaching trays
• Capture patient photos and scans
• Maintain smooth patient flow

Requirements

• Experience with dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix)
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs and perform prolonged sitting/standing
• Excellent chairside assistance skills and attention to detail
