Part-Time OR/SPD Liaison

About the role

The SPD/OR Liaison is responsible for managing daily clinical and administrative operations within their designated surgical specialty. They support OR staff by ensuring instrument kits are prepared, forecasting instrument needs, and coordinating communication for surgical turnaround times. They monitor surgical case flow, conduct KPI audits, analyze operational trends, and respond promptly to instrumentation issues. The role involves cleaning and processing equipment according to safety protocols, maintaining accurate documentation, and assisting with kit updates and instrument counts.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily clinical and administrative operations for a designated surgical specialty
• Ensure instrument kits are prepared
• Forecast instrument needs
• Coordinate communication for surgical turnaround times

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Associate’s Degree preferred, especially in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology
• Minimum of 3 years of SPD experience; 5 years preferred
• Certification as an SPD Tech is mandatory
• Additional leadership or specialized certifications are desirable

Skills
