Part- Time Ophthalmic Technician

About the role

We are hiring a Part-time Ophthalmic Technician to support a high-volume ophthalmic practice focused on delivering quality and compassionate care to each patient. This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history
• Determine visual acuity
• Perform automated refraction
• Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician
• Perform office duties and clinical tasks, including entering data into EMR
• Provide patient services
• Maintain equipment and instruments

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school
• Dependable transportation to travel to other offices as required
• Flexibility to travel to various locations
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to seek instruction in areas where knowledge is lacking
• Ability to recognize inconsistencies
