Part-Time Multivariable Calculus Teacher
About the role
Established in 1922, The Stony Brook School is a co-ed, Christian, college preparatory boarding and day school situated on a beautiful 55-acre campus on the north shore of Long Island in New York. Serving students in grades 7–12, The Stony Brook School is known around the world as an institution that prizes both academic rigor and authentic Christian faith. The Stony Brook School is seeking an experienced and engaging educator to teach one section of Advanced Multivariable Calculus during the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-year course builds on AP Calculus and introduces students to advanced topics including vectors and the geometry of space, vector-valued functions, partial derivatives, gradients and optimization, multiple integrals, line and surface integrals, and major results of vector calculus including Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem, and the Divergence Theorem. The course emphasizes rigorous problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and the beauty and coherence of higher mathematics.
