Primary Responsibilities

  • Voice local newscasts and news updates
  • Write local news stories for web and broadcast
  • Cover community events, meetings and breaking news
  • Create content for social media platforms
  • Conduct interviews with local leaders, organizations and residents
  • Auxiliary with severe weather and emergency coverage
  • Take photos and video when needed
  • Help keep local communities informed and connected

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Comfortable speaking on-air
  • Organized and dependable
  • Interest in local news and community events
  • Ability to work independently
  • Radios, journalism or social media experience is helpful but not required

Hours

10-20 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Newscasts air Monday through Saturday.
