Responsibilities

  • Research, gather, write, and deliver accurate local news stories for on-air broadcasts and digital platforms.
  • Monitor police, fire, emergency services, government agencies, and other news sources for breaking news.
  • Produce clear, concise, and engaging news copy that meets broadcast deadlines.
  • Record, edit, and produce audio using digital editing software.
  • Verify facts and ensure all reporting adheres to accepted journalistic standards and station policies.

Qualifications

  • A strong, clear, and engaging voice with excellent articulation and pronunciation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both on and off-air.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weeknights and weekends, as dictated by game schedules.
  • A genuine passion for local and national news.
  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment and audio production is a plus.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in broadcasting, journalism, or communications preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required for this position.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule is flexible and includes weeknights and weekends, as dictated by game schedules.
