About the role
The Part-time Motor Pool Dispatcher is responsible for performing the dispatching of vehicles and radios to support Terminal activities.
Responsibilities
- Assign vehicles and radios to labor prior to shift, logging proper credentials for accountability.
- Communicate with the mechanic’s shop to ensure vehicles are serviceable and sanitized.
- Report communication deficiencies, damaged equipment, or unreturned radios/equipment (with the employer's complaint filed) to the Department Manager.
- Ensure equipment is ready for next shift.
- Support Terminal’s operations during work hours.
- Occasionally drive through container yard during busy conditions.
- Support the Security Department's needs for additional radios or vehicles.
- Occasionally perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A valid Driver’s License is required.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibilities are required for this role.
Work Environment
The office staff may be required to work outside on their feet 3-5 times a day several times a week, depending on the workload. Exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasional.
