About the role

The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Literacy Tutor. This position involves providing one-on-one tutoring sessions to adult learners seeking to improve their reading, writing, and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to adult learners
• Develop lesson plans based on learner needs and curriculum guidelines
• Assess learner progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Participate in regular meetings with supervisors to discuss progress and challenges
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with adults or in education preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Passion for literacy and a commitment to helping others

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (if required)
