Part-Time Middle and Upper School Teacher of Spanish 2026-2027

About the role

Hackley School seeks a Part-Time Teacher of Spanish to teach one section of Spanish 7 in the Middle School and one section of Spanish I in the Upper School. The Upper School Teacher of Spanish reports to the Modern Languages Department Chair, the Director of the Middle School, and the Director of the Upper School.

Responsibilities

• Teach one section of Spanish 7 (Middle School) and one section of Spanish I (Upper School)
• Conduct classes in the target language using a communicative approach
• Integrate educational technology into curriculum and daily lessons
• Collaborate with a team of 8 Spanish teachers and a department of 12 specialist linguists

Requirements

• BA in Spanish (required); graduate degree preferred
• Experience teaching Spanish at the middle and upper school levels
• Comfort teaching in a collaborative, dynamic environment
• Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and skill in teaching additional languages (e.g., French, Chinese, and/or Latin)
• Ability to bring joy and humor to the classroom and school community

Pay

Salary range: $31,353–$58,120 for this 10-month part-time faculty position. Experience informs a base salary as published in Hackley’s faculty salary stage scale.
