Responsibilities
- Aid residents with their daily medications, treatments, and resident care as assigned.
- Notify Supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and document the reason(s).
- Maintain clear, accurate, complete, and confidential records on resident medication and care.
- Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills, notify the pharmacy, and report any missing medications.
- Assist caregivers in their duties and document incident reports.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and resident alerts or requests.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards.
- Comply with Federal, State, and local regulations and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED), required.
- Certification or education as required by state regulations.
- Valid CPR & First Aid certification.
- 1+ years of prior related work experience in a similar healthcare role, within a similar industry/work environment.
- 1+ years of experience handling medications preferred.
Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to effectively manage and respond to resident behaviors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Comfortable with technology for documentation of medication passes, incidents, and notes.
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions when circumstances are warranted, remain calm, and effectively manage stressful or emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently without day-to-day oversight and supervision.
- Positive and professional image in accordance with MBK values.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds, as necessary.
- Ability to move throughout the workday, in the community, and between neighborhoods.
- Ability to assist in the physical movement of residents during routine transfers and in emergency situations.
