Key Responsibilities
- Performing patient medical history intake and accurately documenting information in the EMR
- Making and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight
- Conducting basic lab procedures like EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection
- Preparing and administering medications under physician supervision
- Sets up exam rooms with necessary supplies
- Provides patient education on health instructions, discharge papers, and medications
- Completes administrative tasks including checklists and inventory logs
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with externship
- CPR certification (required); CMA, RMA, or CCMA preferred
- Minimum one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong customer service skills
- Professionalism, effective communication, and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Able to stand/walk long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work extended shifts
