About the role
The MDS Coordinator RN is responsible for managing the accurate and timely completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), care planning, and documentation to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This role supports optimized reimbursement through adherence to PDPM and payer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff, plan and assign work, conduct interviews and training, prepare performance evaluations, resolve employee issues, and participate in performance improvement plans
- Use independent judgment and ensure staff supervision aligns with organizational policies
Requirements
- Prior MDS/RAI experience
- Knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory standards
- Supervisory skills
- Valid RN license
- Current CPR certification
