Part Time Math & Science Teacher - 1-to-1 Education

About the role

Brightmont Academy offers a part‑time, flexible teaching position focused on one‑to‑one instruction for students in grades 1–12. You will work directly with a single student at a time, tailoring lessons to their unique needs and learning styles, without the burden of lesson planning, parent conferences, or extensive grading.

Responsibilities

• Teach math or science subjects one‑on‑one, adapting instruction to each student’s learning style.
• Use a gradual‑release approach to guide students toward mastery and confidence.
• Focus on inspiring and supporting the student throughout each session.
• Utilize G‑Suite and the academy’s Learning Management Software (LMS) for lesson delivery and tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (e.g., Math, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biology, etc.).
• Patience and empathy for diverse learning needs.
• Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
• Proficiency with G‑Suite and LMS platforms.
• Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA only) and pass a federal background check.

Bonus Qualifications

• Teaching certification (nice to have, not required).
• Advanced degree in a specific subject area.
• Previous experience with one‑to‑one teaching.

Pay

$22–$25 per hour
