Essential Duties
- Clean, label, assemble, and repair waste collection containers in the corporation yard and at customer locations.
- Deliver and remove waste collection containers from customer locations.
- Aid with collection and unloading of household hazardous waste and bulky waste.
- Aid with loading and unloading event supplies, including setup and cleanup for the events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Employment Standards
- Knowledge: Safe work practices, basic methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in grounds and facilities maintenance; and waste and recycling.
- Ability: Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and correctly, follow oral and written instructions, maintain simple records and logs, establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade.
- Experience: No experience is required. Experience with the proper handling of hazardous waste, including waste properties and necessary safety precautions is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: frequent use of keyboard; frequent sitting for long periods of time; frequent standing, bending or squatting.
- Lifting: frequently up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Vision: constant use of overall vision; frequent reading and close-up work; occasional color and depth vision.
- Dexterity: frequent repetitive motion; frequent writing; frequent grasping, holding, and reaching.
- Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and talking, in person and on the phone.
- Emotional/Psychological: frequent decision-making and concentration; frequent public and/or coworker contact; occasional working alone.
- Environmental: frequent exposure to noise; frequent exposure to chemicals, fumes and other environmental substances.
Schedule
Regular work on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Hours will be 15-20 hours per week.
Pay & Benefits
Non-exempt, hourly rate. $16.90 - $26.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Part-time positions are hourly and not eligible for benefits, and are limited to working 999 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
