Part Time Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Two Rivers YMCA is seeking an experienced part-time Maintenance Worker for day shifts, working 20-25 hours per week. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour, potentially higher based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds, including mowing, weed eating, snow removal, salting, repairs, painting, and monitoring water quality.
• Monitor and assist in maintaining energy management programs.
• Maintain the comprehensive maintenance schedule and keep accurate records.
• Attend staff meetings and training events.
• Maintain a professional image and interact positively with members, staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Set up and take down rooms for activities as directed.
• Make necessary purchases and order supplies, as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, and five years of maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively with members, staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate figures and apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Knowledge of common sense to understand and follow instructions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Computer proficiency and basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pool chemistry knowledge.
• CPR/AED certification, Bloodborne Pathogens training, Hazard Communication training, and a valid driver's license with car insurance for driving purposes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Five years of maintenance experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, mowers, snow blowers, and other equipment.
• Experience with swimming pools, boilers, pumps, and motors.
• Proficiency with a computer.
