Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on all machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Attend to the many, day to day repairs and maintenance of the facilities.
  • Assist housekeeping in the care of the facility.
  • Perform landscaping duties including but not limited to grass cutting, snow removal, trimming of bushes, etc.
  • Cleans debris from roof gutters as necessary.
  • Accept work or service requests for repairs and maintenance to the common areas, structures, and grounds.
  • Perform general maintenance of structures, i.e., carpentry, electrical, painting and mechanical.
  • Assists with additional housekeeping services as needed.
  • Completes service requests and updates work logs for specific site requirements.
  • Performs monthly checking of fire extinguishers property-wide.
  • Reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate parties for action.
  • Moves furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites.
  • Changes light bulbs / Install fixtures.
  • Change switches and sockets / Tests for current.
  • Strong diligence with the capacity to maintain/complete accurate records/correspondence.
  • Understands and always maintains appropriate confidentiality when interacting with alumni, families, and all other clients and contacts following Clients Rights and HIPAA.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor when representing Bridges of Hope.
  • Able to maintain boundaries while collaborating with clients, alumni, and their families.
  • Install ceiling fans / Unclog drains / Locate leaks.
  • Observe and respond to any unhealthy, unsafe, or hazardous conditions throughout the development.
  • Use expertise to correct situation if beyond ability, report concern to the Director of Operations.
  • Maintain focus while working individually.
  • Fills in for Vacation as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Skills in finishing, painting, carpentry, electrical and plumbing required.
  • Prior maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills.
  • Proof of Insurance.
  • CPR or BLS certification (must be completed within 60 days of hire).

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility - Twist, Bend, Stoop/squat, move quickly (respond to emergency), Climb stairs, Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles t provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
  • Hearing - Hear normal speaking level sounds (person-to-person), Hear alarms (monitors, fire alarms, code alarms).
  • Visual - See information up to 24 inches away (monitors, computer screens, skin conditions), See objects up to 20 feet away (patient in room), Use depth perception, Use of peripheral vision.
  • Reach above shoulders/overhead, reach below the waist (electrical plugs, etc.), Reach in front (assist patient with arms out), Pick up objects with hands, Write with pen, Use computer (type), Pinch/pick or otherwise work with fingers (use keyboard, etc.), Twist at waist, Twist wrists/hands (turn objects/knobs using hands).
  • Focus/Process Adherence - Must be able to adhere to process protocols. Maintain focus on tasks in a busy environment.
