Part-Time Maintenance Technician

About the role

Hampton Inn & Suites Kansas City Downtown Crossroads is seeking a part-time Maintenance Engineer. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing malfunctioning electrical/mechanical systems and equipment; reviewing maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders; proactively inspecting the property; planning and executing ongoing maintenance programs; servicing the hotel’s pool; performing preventative maintenance; maintaining the building exterior; and responding to guest maintenance requests.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning electrical/mechanical systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments.
• Proactively inspect property to identify potential and current needs.
• Plan and execute on-going appropriate maintenance programs.
• Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
• Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain the building exterior.
• Listen and respond to guests’ maintenance requests.

Requirements

• 1 year in a maintenance role, requiring troubleshooting and repairing of various systems and equipment such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.

Qualifications

Education and experience requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Skills

• Problem-solving skills.
• Technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Physical stamina to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
