Responsibilities
- Play an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care, model BoosterPet’s core values
- Able to complete physical exams, triage and complete vitals on behalf of our DVMs
- Be tech savvy
- Support BoosterPet urgent care services and telemed wellness as needed
- Complete detailed medical records with thorough medical history. Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management system
- Educate animal owners
- Liaise with veterinarians and veterinary assistants to ensure continuity of patient care
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team members
- Administer medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
- Obtain and verify medications
- Perform phlebotomy duties, and provide intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
- Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
- Assist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
- Answer phones and make appointments as needed
- Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
- Administer first aid for emergencies
- Knowledge with the RECOVER guidelines
- Induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
- Complete regional anesthesia when needed
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment, and complying with legal regulations
Requirements
- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure in Washington
