About Lakeside Behavioral Health System

Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States, located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County. We serve children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors, treating disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, mental illness, and addictive disease disorders including alcoholism, drug addiction, and substance abuse.

About the Role

The Therapist provides clinical social work services on a designated unit, consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health. This role is integral to our team-oriented and compassionate organization, where staff cite the team as their number one reason for working here.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Participate in treatment team planning, processing commitments, and discharge planning/case management services.
  • Provide crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other hospital departments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units serving varied populations, including adults and dually diagnosed patients in inpatient and partial hospital settings.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, or a related social services field; licensure preferred.
  • Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • TN LCSW or LPC licensure required.
  • Knowledge of case management, discharge planning, group leadership, age-specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, and family therapy theory and practice.
