Part time Licensed Electrician
Primary Responsibilities
- Install electrical components, equipment or systems using blueprints, schematics, manuals or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Troubleshoots an electrical panel.
- Connects power supply wires to equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints.
- Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations or tests.
- Calibrates equipment to specifications.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices.
- Tests faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Sets up and tests industrial equipment to ensure it functions properly.
- Inspects components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects such as loose connections or frayed wires.
- Knows how to use computer software to program, draw, modify and store schematics.
- Knows how to troubleshoot a PLC with a laptop to resolve issues.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Able to interact with production cells.
- Able to complete duties under tight deadlines and while attending to multiple duties simultaneously.
- Able to solve problems when material shortage issues occur.
- Able to lift 50 pounds (with team lift).
- Basic working knowledge of computers (data input and retrieval).
- Proficient basic math skills.
- Write legibly and maintain records.
Required Education And/or Experience
- Journeyman certificate or 8 years of experience in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley Controls Schemes.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
- Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Physically capable and available to work overtime including holidays, weekends and evenings.
- State of Michigan Electrical License is required for electrician candidates.
