Part time Licensed Electrician

Primary Responsibilities

• Install electrical components, equipment or systems using blueprints, schematics, manuals or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
• Troubleshoots an electrical panel.
• Connects power supply wires to equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints.
• Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations or tests.
• Calibrates equipment to specifications.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices.
• Tests faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
• Sets up and tests industrial equipment to ensure it functions properly.
• Inspects components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects such as loose connections or frayed wires.
• Knows how to use computer software to program, draw, modify and store schematics.
• Knows how to troubleshoot a PLC with a laptop to resolve issues.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Able to interact with production cells.
• Able to complete duties under tight deadlines and while attending to multiple duties simultaneously.
• Able to solve problems when material shortage issues occur.
• Able to lift 50 pounds (with team lift).
• Basic working knowledge of computers (data input and retrieval).
• Proficient basic math skills.
• Write legibly and maintain records.

Required Education And/or Experience

• Journeyman certificate or 8 years of experience in a similar role.
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley Controls Schemes.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Physically capable and available to work overtime including holidays, weekends and evenings.
• State of Michigan Electrical License is required for electrician candidates.
