Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional - Three Peaks Elementary

About the role

Three Peaks Elementary is seeking a Part-Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. This position works 27.5 hours per week and plays a key role in developing college and career readiness for all students in the Iron County School District.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students and student groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Assist in observing and recording behavior patterns, and reinforce acceptable behavior techniques.
• Support certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Assist with procedures related to physical and medical needs, including lifting and supporting students, changing protective clothing, and operating adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs).
• Implement behavior management plans and communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Depending on the position, assist students with self-care techniques, including toilet training, bathing, personal cleanliness, diapering, feeding, and other self-help skills as needed.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and execution of classroom management systems.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with others.
• Supervise students in all areas of the school, including during lunch hour inside and outside the building.
• Operate office equipment such as computers, copy machines, and other technology.
• Monitor and ensure regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.

Requirements

• Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with Google Docs, and frequent email checking.
• Willingness to learn and use all required computer systems and software.

Schedule

27.5 hours per week.
