About the role

This part-time position works 27.5 hours per week under the direction of the Special Education Teacher to provide education services and support to students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support assistance to students and student groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity.
• Assist in observing and recording behavior patterns and follow appropriate techniques to reinforce acceptable behavior.
• Assist certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and carrying out of systems for classroom management.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students.
• Supervise students in all areas of the school, including inside and outside of the building during lunch hour.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.
• Operate various types of office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
• Monitor and support students during lunch hour.

Requirements

• Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with Google Docs, and frequent email checking.
• Willingness to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.

Schedule

27.5 hours per week.
