The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for temporary lecturer positions focusing on student retention and student success. These roles aim to support students adjusting to the University environment during their initial semesters.

About the Role

This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding. It requires a Master's degree in counseling, educational leadership, or a closely related field. Additional qualifications include experience in delivering content addressing the high-school-to-college transition, preferably through group advising and peer mentoring, and success in multi-dimensional advising and delivery of workshops or seminars in a classroom setting. Experience working with student athletes, first-generation students, and at-risk students is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses focusing on student retention and student success
  • Deliver content addressing the high-school-to-college transition
  • Incorporate various approaches including group advising and peer mentoring
  • Work with student athletes, first-generation, and at-risk students
  • Deliver workshops or seminars in a classroom setting

Benefits

Compensation is based on qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package. Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
