About the role

The Liberal Studies Department, an undergraduate teacher preparation program within the Bailey College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers from our local geographic area. Positions are available as needed during the Fall and/or Spring semester of the 2026-27 academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching one or more undergraduate courses in community-based field experience, storytelling, children's literature, constitutional issues in American education, introduction to the visual and performing arts, as well as application to the K-8 education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus teaching experience in the K-8 classroom and interest in teacher preparation.
  • Master's Degree and five years K-8 teaching experience in public schools preferred.

Qualifications

  • Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
  • Classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are provided in the pay section.
