About the role

The Physics Program at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) invites qualified applicants to teach a variety of physics courses. Additional opportunities to teach other courses in the future are dependent on qualifications, enrollment growth, and program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Face-to-face teaching of physics lectures and laboratory sections.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Requirement: MS degree in physics or related field.
  • Required Qualifications: MS degree in physics or related field. Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching physics or related content in a college or university setting. PhD in physics or related field.

  • Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
  • A teaching philosophy describing how you plan to engage and interact with students, with a special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander, and American Indian students.

  • Ability to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population.
  • Experience teaching physics or related content in a college or university setting.
  • Commitment to mentoring and working with minoritized students, with a special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
