Part Time Laundry

About the Role

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and maintain the nursing home in a sanitary, odor-free manner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a sufficient supply of clean linen for resident care and comfort.
• Maintain linen in good condition, removing items with holes or stains from service.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new residents' clothing items.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms.
• Follow all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma.
• 1 Year of experience preferred.

Skills

• Ability to read and understand laundry/housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Problem-solving ability and willingness to seek assistance when needed.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear.
• Frequent use of industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry/housekeeping equipment.

Work Environment

• Low to moderate noise level.
