Part Time Lab Assistant, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

This position is open to current Penn State undergraduate students interested in genetics and cell biological research of neurodegenerative diseases.

About the role

The Selleck Laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking part-time undergraduate researchers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Drosophila genetic analysis of neurodegenerative disease models using antibody staining, confocal microscopy, and behavioral measures.
• Work with human tissue culture cell lines, including retinal pigmented epithelial cells.
• Use fluorescent probes for assessing lysosomal structure and function in both live-cell and fixed-cell imaging on confocal microscopes.
