About the role

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains and promotes accuracy of retail store inventory by working and reviewing various inventory reports, conducting on-demand inventory audits, and communicating results with store management. This multi-function role partners with the sales floor, receiving teams, and retail leadership to maintain inventory accuracy, promote replenishment and sales, and mitigate merchandise loss and shrink for the organization. The position also provides customer service support throughout the store, performing selling and customer service activities such as greeting customers, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory integrity and accuracy by executing on-demand and prescriptive inventory cycle counts.
  • Conducts empty peg and display integrity scans within departments and completes appropriate inventory adjustments to maintain in-stocks and replenishment.
  • Investigates and reconciles all inventory variance reports, including but not limited to negative on-hand review, aged in transit, and purchase order discrepancies.
  • Reviews and distributes price change reports to department leadership and completes inventory review and adjustments based on returned reports as needed.
  • Communicates opportunities, issues, and discrepancies with store leadership for review and resolution.
  • Assists customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating customers' needs and making product recommendations.
  • Promotes programs including, but not limited to, CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Years of experience: Two

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Ability to use System Two, RF/Gizmo devices, and DOMO reporting.
  • Ability to generate and analyze inventory reporting.
  • Ability to process and organize information.
  • Ability to write reports and effectively present information from findings to management.
  • Ability to communicate with retail sales floor associates and leadership on price changes and inventory accuracy.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use ladders and/or lifts.
  • Regular computer work, walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
