Part-time Instructors (CE) - School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development
About the role
The School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is an exciting and entrepreneurial office within the College, which offers a wide variety of non-credit classes, courses, seminars, and training sessions for the community. These offerings are focused on revitalizing careers, upgrading skills and credentials, growing businesses, and pursuing pastimes and passions. Additionally, the HCCC Center for Business & Industry (CBI) is the area leader in developing and delivering educational classes and programs for Hudson County’s businesses, organizations, and individuals.
Responsibilities
- Teach various workforce development courses including English as a Second Language, QuickBooks, SAT Prep: Language Arts, and Spanish-speaking Computer Instruction.
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective course content tailored to the needs of the community.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback through regular evaluations and discussions.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching methods and stay updated with industry trends.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development to ensure high-quality instruction across all programs.
Requirements
- Current instructors should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree and relevant work experience.
- New instructors should have a bachelor's degree and a strong commitment to teaching and community engagement.
- Experience in adult education, particularly in workforce development, is preferred.
- Ability to teach in multiple languages is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
