Part-time Instructors - Adult Education Program
About the role
The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools & Instructional Programs is seeking Part-time Instructors to support the Adult Education evening program.
Responsibilities
- Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics: Two (2) nights per week, 6:00 - 9:00 PM (Anticipated)
- Auto Body Technician: Two (2) nights per week, 7:00 - 10:00 PM
- Automotive Institute: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 - 9:30 PM
- Auto Technician: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 - 5:30 PM
- Building Maintenance: Monday - Thursday, 3:30 - 5:30 PM
- Dental Assistant: Two (2) nights per week, 3:30 - 6:00 PM
- Pet Grooming: Two (2) nights per week, 6:30 - 9:30 PM
- Trade Electric: Two (2) nights per week, 7:00 - 10:00 PM
Requirements
- Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics: Industry experience in advanced manufacturing and/or robotics strongly preferred.
- Auto Body Technician: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Automotive Institute: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Auto Technician: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Building Maintenance: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Dental Assistant: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Pet Grooming: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Trade Electric: Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Auto Body Technician: Relevant industry certification and experience.
- Automotive Institute: Relevant industry certification and experience.
- Auto Technician: Relevant industry certification and experience.
- Building Maintenance: Relevant industry certification and experience.
- Dental Assistant: Relevant industry certification and experience.
- Pet Grooming: Relevant industry certification and experience.
- Trade Electric: Relevant industry certification and experience.
Skills
- Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics: Proficiency in manual mill and lathe operation, Mastercam, industrial robotics, CNC programming, and additive manufacturing.
- Auto Body Technician: Proficiency in auto body safety, metal straightening, paint mixing and application, welding, and spray equipment.
- Automotive Institute: Proficiency in maintenance, engine repair, automatic and manual transmissions, steering and suspension, and electrical systems.
- Auto Technician: Proficiency in shop safety, oil changes, tires, brakes, and related tasks.
- Building Maintenance: Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, painting, patching, and general upkeep, preventative maintenance procedures, and OSHA standards.
- Dental Assistant: Proficiency in dental anatomy, oral cancer detection, radiology, and the uses of instruments and equipment.
- Pet Grooming: Proficiency in pet grooming techniques and equipment.
- Trade Electric: Proficiency in NCCER Electric Level I and Motor Control.
