Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Possess the knowledge, talents, and skills in their functional areas, and in multiple teaching methodologies including conventional, online, hybrid, flipped, and blended courses.
- Demonstrate respect for the diverse learning needs of students.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement curriculum objectives and content for the courses taught.
- Demand and maintain high standards and expectations for all students.
- Develop and implement evaluation and assessment techniques that are appropriate for each course.
- Use multiple measures to assess student learning on a regular basis and provide frequent feedback to students relative to their performance.
- Be qualified under College of Business policy and consistent with AACSB standards.
Physical Requirements
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of an earned master’s degree in economics, or in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in economics,
- Alternatively, Master’s Degree in Business, and 3+ years of professional experience related to economics, and
- Classification as Instructional Practitioner (IP, defined in the appendix**) according to AACSB accreditation standards.
A background check will be required of the successful candidate.

Appendix
Instructional Practitioners (IP) classification requires:
- A faculty member had current and substantial work experience (generally exceeding three years in a supervisory role) related to the field of teaching at the time of hiring,
- The faculty member has earned at least six professional engagement points within the last five years.
Professional Engagement Points
- Each full year of relevant professional work experience (3 points per activity) • Directly related to the field of teaching • Full-time employment • Substantive in responsibility (generally should be in a managerial role)
- Maintain documented, active professional certifications in the area of teaching
- Significant professional consulting activities (2 points per activity) • Directly related to the field of teaching • Material in terms of time and substance
- Development and presentation of executive education programs
- Evidence of significant participation/leadership in professional associations (maximum of 3 points per position)
- Significant participation in professional events that focus on the practice of business, management, and related issues
- Significant participation in other activities that place faculty in direct engagement with business or other organizational leaders
- Publishation of practice-oriented intellectual contributions
- Presentation at professional (not academic) meeting
